Ruderer L530 - Transparent Plastic Adhesive

The Ruderer L530 is a thin, colorless-transparent, solvent-based plastic adhesive that is particularly suitable for the precise bonding of plastics to one another or to other materials. This adhesive is ideal for processing plastics such as polystyrene, ABS, ABS/PMMA, PVC, ASA, PMMA (acrylic glass or Plexiglas), SAN - both to one another and to materials such as wood, ceramics, metal, paper, cardboard or textiles.

Although the Ruderer L530 is not a superglue, it is advisable to join the surfaces to be bonded immediately after applying it to both sides. However, unlike superglue, this glue offers the possibility of correcting the position of the bonded parts. After the solvent has completely evaporated, a bond is created that resembles the plastics as if they were permanently welded. This process is commonly known as "cold welding" where the solvent penetrates the surface of the plastic, softening it and hardening again as it evaporates.

The transparent plastic adhesive Ruderer L530 is supplied in practical 20g tubes and can be applied without additional tools. A dispensing gun is not required for application.

Processing:

Before bonding, make sure that the surfaces to be bonded are dry, clean and free of grease. Apply the plastic adhesive to the surfaces of the substrates and bond them immediately while the adhesive is still wet. For very small parts, applying the adhesive to one side is sufficient, while for slightly larger surfaces, applying it to both sides is recommended to ensure reliable wetting of both sides.

In contrast to superglue, corrections can be made after joining. Fix the glued parts sufficiently until the glue has completely hardened. The required fixing time depends on the type and design of the parts to be joined. If there is no tension, 5 - 10 minutes of fixing time is usually sufficient.

NOTE: The transparent plastic adhesive Ruderer L530 is not suitable for semi-crystalline plastics such as PE, PP, PTFE, PET, POM, EPDM.
